Education is very important to me and I was inspired to go into education because of my mother who was in education for 42 years as well as my 1st - 3rd grade teachers at Booker T. Washington Elementary and my 4th grade teacher at Prescott Elementary. I have been in education for 35 years as an elementary teacher as well as assistant principal at the elementary and secondary levels. I am proud to have the opportunity to work with staff, students and the community at West Oso ISD. It was a joy to work as the assistant principal at West Oso High School for 4 years, John F. Kennedy Elementary for 2 years and 3 months and continue to serve with a glad heart as my season comes to an end as the assistant principal and the start of a new journey as principal at West Oso Junior High School will begin. I look forward to new experiences and growth that I know will take place this 2017-2018 school year as I continue to have a love for what I do and a passion for people as a whole. Go Mighty Bears!

I have been employed with the district for 30 years serving as a paraprofessional for 4 years, teacher/coach for 15, and a campus administrator for 15 years. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology from the University of North Texas and Masters of Science Degree in Educational Administration from Corpus Christi State University . West Oso I.S.D. has been the only district that I have been of service in, with the greatest reward being student achievement and life- long learners. I have truly been blessed to serve 3 generations of community members. Other accomplishments include leading the West Oso Elementary from unacceptable to recognized to exemplary status on the state assessment in 2010, prior to taking over a junior high that was unacceptable, and now we can proudly say we are a campus that "meets standards." W.O.J.H. was also honored in 2013-14 with Academic Achievement in Post-Secondary Readiness as well as Academic Achievement in Reading/ELA.  In 2014-15 we were honored to receive a Gold Star Distinction Academic Achievement in Math, and Top 25% Closing Performance Gap from the Texas Education Agency. All in all West Oso I.S.D. has Embraced all students hearts, Enriched students academically and Inspired all to be the best they can be.
